okay so this isn’t an offical dandy tutorial or anything, because what is computers. (I’m on my PS Vita.) Buuut I just wanted to show you guys how I did my Tavros horns.

my bro Dave and I started our with two 12” (or 1 ft) long styrofoam cones I got at Michel’s. (WARNING: NOT CHEAP) Also please note my friend Dave is doing all the work here. So we (and by we I mean she) started out by covering the tip with Model Magic Air Dry Clay. (WARNING: ALSO NOT CHEAP)

Then, as you can see above, we moulded the tip of the clay into a more horn-like shape by curving them into points. After that was dry (and it dries REALLY light) we wrapped the rest of the cone with… Okay it’s SUPPOSED to be masking tape, and I highly recomend you use masking tape for this, but Dave didn’t have any, so we used painter’s tape. It’s more difficult to put on smoothly and correctly, and it also peels off easily and it’s just not recommended at all. Dave just did a wonderful job at putting it on.

after the rest of the cone is wrapped with “masking tape” save for the tip where there is already clay, Dave smoothed and flattened peices of Model Magic to plaster onto the horn. It doesn’t matter what color clay is used, because it will just be painted over. It should be noted that darker colors will need more coats of paint than the lighter clays.

The horns might feel much heavier than they should, but don’t worry; the clay just needs time to dry. We ran out of clay and paint, so we weren’t able to finish the horns today, but I will post the finished horns when they’re done. (we also took a break and watched Like a Huss)
